Our 3 Pillar Mission

We strive to build a successful and honest company that operates on 3 pillars:

Real Data

Accurate new business data is elusive. Whether it’s information on the business itself or those who work there, obtaining accurate and timely data is difficult.

We meet this challenge by performing multiple steps to eliminate poor and inaccurate data thus ensuring the highest quality real data possible.

Real Results

Results for our clients are the measuring stick of real data.  Whether it’s response rates, sales or profits, these real results are the priority for us. The value of our data lies in the results achieved by clients.

Real People

Employees, clients, vendors, and associates form the circle of real people we work with daily.  We recognize and value their needs, feelings, and livelihood. We therefore share our feedback and success with this circle that includes a yearly contribution to the charity of our employees’ choice.

Crosslists Story

Some 35 years ago, Crosslists was started to serve the non-profit and religious market.  Jean Pettid and Mark Hellstern were the founders and have since retired.  Starting in the late 1990s, the firm began compiling new business data under the direction of Joy Pettid, our current President, and chief data guru.

Crosslists has grown steadily in both clients and staff and now serves clients in a variety of markets including financial services, technology, office products and premiums, to name a few.

Leadership

Joy Pettid

President

Joy has led Crosslists since 2005, but her data career began long before that – as a programmer and analyst, where she developed the technical foundation that would become her edge. With a degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of Central Missouri, she built the processes and systems that have made Crosslists a benchmark for accuracy and reliability in the industry.

Having held nearly every role in the company, Joy brings a full-stack perspective to her work—from how data is sourced and structured to how client relationships and long-term strategy are shaped. That perspective carries through to every dataset, every engagement, and every result.

Outside the office, she enjoys time with her family, her dogs, and her horse, Quinn—and, whenever possible, a beach somewhere.

Bruce Kimmel

Director of Client Engagement

In a world flooded with data, more isn’t the answer — better data, delivered at the right time, is. That’s the foundation of Bruce Kimmel’s approach.

As Director of Client Engagement, Bruce brings more than 30 years of experience at the intersection of data and marketing. He started in the early days of data monetization, when “timing” meant quarterly or monthly data refreshes and three-month lead times to launch a direct mail campaign — where precision directly impacted results.

While the industry has evolved from catalog and direct mail to digital, identity, and AI-driven marketing, the core issue hasn’t changed: companies have more data than ever, but struggle to find the signals that matter and use them effectively.

At Crosslists, Bruce focuses on three principles:

  • Market-ready data — fresh, accurate, cleaned, verified, and ready to activate
  • Formation-stage marketing — reaching businesses early in the formation process, when foundational vendor decisions are being made
  • Foundational partner — embedded early in workflows and tech stacks, where decisions endure and switching becomes harder

Together, these principles enable companies to engage earlier, act on better signals, and establish lasting relationships from the very beginning.

Bruce helps clients turn these principles into action — aligning data with timing, identifying the signals that matter, and applying them in ways that drive real business outcomes without unnecessary complexity.

Because better outcomes don’t come from more data — they come from accurate, timely data and the market intelligence to act on the signals that matter.

Outside of work, Bruce is an avid motorsports fan and enjoys woodworking, home improvement projects, and spending time with family, friends, and his sidekick, Willis.

Christie Nordmeyer

Chief Branding Officer

Christie is a storytelling brand strategist, creative architect, and now the Chief Branding Officer at Crosslists, where she brings humanity, voice, and visionary design to the data world, helping define how the company shows up in the market.

With a background as a serial entrepreneur and dual MBAs in international marketing and entrepreneurship, Christie has led campaigns for major hospitality brands, founded and sold a successful media company, and developed storytelling frameworks that help businesses connect, convert, and captivate.

At Crosslists, Christie is the creative force shaping how the brand shows up in the market by translating complex data capabilities into compelling narratives, elevating visual identity, and designing the strategic messaging that sets the company apart. Known for blending left-brain strategy with right-brain artistry, she turns raw information into resonant stories and builds brands that feel as smart as they look.

Whether she’s developing high-impact campaigns, crafting editorial experiences through Well Trvl’d, or architecting Crosslists’ evolving brand ecosystem, Christie’s work is rooted in one belief: when creativity meets clarity, companies become unforgettable.

When she’s not exploring new corners of the world, Christie is a homebody at heart, soaking up every minute she can with her husband and their labradoodle son, Koda Bear.
